Today's website of the month is TransNewGuinea.org. TransNewGuinea.org contains information related to the languages of the Pacific island of New Guinea. While the site primarily focuses on the Trans-New Guinea languages, of which there are around 400, it also covers languages from other families. One of the site's goals is to reveal the history of these languages, which, despite Trans-New Guinea possibly being the world's third-largest language family, is currently obscure. Resources on the site include a word database, various cognate sets, and relevant sources.
